How long does it take for SEO Results?

This is one of the common questions I hear day in and day out, unfortunately it does'nt have an answer but instead it has a line of questions requiring a detailed review:

Is your website new?
What are your target keywords and phrases?
What are the marketing conditions for those keywords?
What type of restrictions will be in place for onsite SEO?
What type of offsite linking structure is currently in place?

Once your current website has been reviewed and a plan has been developed then some assumptions can be made to determine how long it should take to see resonable results. Every website is different and faces different challenges when it comes to SEO, but please do remember that SEO is a process, and one that never ends. Yes you will see results from your efforts but you will also see results from your non-effort as well. The Search Engines are watching, and just like consumers if you're not offering the latest and greatest, they'll find someone else who is!

New Website Launch

The Canton Agency is testing out a new website design and structure. We've added a Content Management System to the site using drupal. This allows us to become even more interactive with our users and insure that we are posting the freshest content possible. The integration of our blog and other social networking sites will also present our community with more access to what is going on at The Canton Agency. You may also start to notice our site design start taking a turn to the food industry, we are very excited to be taking on a few industry specific projects with the building of youfoody.com and our case study exploration into the Wine industry in Southern California!

Recommended Reading

Last week I started reading a book called Radically Transparent by Andy Beal and Dr. Judy Strauss. The premise of the book is the Monitoring and Management of Online Reputations, from the individual to the Corporate Image. I may only be a few chapters in so far but the content is great so far. It references a number of Case Studies of well known Online brand issues related to social and viral marketing. While so far it has mainly focused on concepts and not actionable items (again I’m only a few chapters in), I expect to get to the meat of the book soon. I’ll report back once I’ve finished but so far it is headed in the right direction.
